Description: Portrait of Betty Root. She and her husband, Jim, a West Point classmate of the artist and both fellow Californians were lifelong friends of the artist and his wife, Nancy. Betty currently survives her husband and enjoys retirement in Carmel, CA. where she has worked in the office of the Mayor, Clint Eastwood. During the span of the artist’s career in the military, the Roots and the McGoverns coterminously shared the same duty assignment 13 times, including tours at West point and in the Phillipines. This portrait is in the possession of Betty Root.
